Pfaffenhofen, Deutschland - The 25th Pfaffenhofen city run, which takes place this Sunday, is very popular. With more than 1000 registrations by athletes, the event is already a success. According to organizer Bernhard Obele, the number of participants has increased significantly compared to the previous year, when 930 runners reported. Obele is optimistic that despite possible short -term cancellations, the mark of 1000 finishers will be exceeded. There is also the possibility to register on the day of the event.
"We are happy about the high number of registrations, even if it is an organizational challenge," says Obele. The weather conditions could also contribute to a successful run, since mild temperatures of around 15 degrees and dry conditions are forecast.
The defending champion and other contenders
The women lack some top athletes, including the last winner Diana Kurrer and her teammates Lisa Basener and Susann Schultz, who focus on the upcoming Bavarian championship. Julia Schreiber, who was third in the previous year, introduces herself as a possible candidate for the city championship title.

The route remains unchanged compared to previous years and extends over a 2.5 km round, which must be run four times. The start and finish are located at the Volksfestplatz, from where it goes back to the main square and on through various streets.
The day of running begins at 11:45 a.m. with the child run of the U 6 age group over 400 meters. Further competitions follow, including the U 8, U 10 and the age groups U 12 and U 14. The main run over 10,000 meters is started at 1 p.m., followed by a run over 2500 meters for young people and a fitness run over 5000 meters. Participants who want to register should arrive at least an hour before their respective run.
