In the Upper Bavarian Wolnzach, an impressive honor for fire brigade members recently took place. On Monday, a total of 62 firefighters from various municipalities in the Pfaffenhofen district were honored. This award includes the municipalities of Hohenwart, Pörnbach, Reichertshofen, Rohrbach, Wolnzach and Geisenfeld, and appreciates their long -term, tireless commitment to the voluntary fire brigades, which ranges over at least 25, 40 to 50 years The honor of Klaus Bartosch from the Niederlauterbach volunteer fire brigade, which was also honored for his 40 years of active service, is particularly noteworthy. Bartosch had the role of the chairman of the fire brigade association from 1998 to 2022 and thus made a significant contribution to the organization and promotion of the fire brigade.

District Administrator Albert Gürtner used the event to thank the honored for their many years of volunteering. "With their commitment, they do great for their community every day. Your voluntary commitment and willingness to take on social responsibility is exemplary," said Gürtner. This recognition for the fire brigade members was also supported by Wolnzach's second mayor, Josef Schäch, and the district fire councilor Christian Nitschke, who also praised the outstanding work of the firefighters.

- 50 years of active service: Adam Guld (FF Burgstall)
- 40 years of active service: Klaus Wiesender (Hohenwart), Michael Großhauser, Xaver Smid, Ulrich Baumgärtel (Koppenbach), Josef Kaspar and many more from different communities.
- 25 years of active service: Michael Jofer, Christian Mair (Koppenbach), Georg Weber (Deimhausen) and others.
These honors are not only a sign of respect for the hard work and the commitment of the firefighters, but also an important memory of the importance of volunteering in society. The knowledge gathered and the experience that has been entered into the fire brigade for decades are essential for the security of the community.
