Schleuser rams police lock: dramatic chase in Freyung!

An incredible drama took place on Sunday in the municipal area of Neieichenau (district of Freyung-Grafenau)! A 33-year-old North Macedonian got involved in a dangerous attempt to escape, in which he rammed a police ban with full force. It all started when the federal police wanted to check a vehicle with a French license plate around 2:30 a.m. But the driver, who was traveling with several people, decided to escape the control and fled towards Waldkirchen at breakneck speed.

After a rapid chase, in which the fleeting driver reached up to 160 km/h, the Renault was finally spotted again on state road 2131. The federal police built a lock in Klafferstraß with two police cars, but the smuggler was unstoppable! Shortly after 3 a.m. he crashed into one of the police vehicles, which led to his own injuries while the officials remained unharmed.

The police supplied the driver, who was briefly taken to the hospital before he was taken into custody. It is now faced with several allegations, including the insertion of foreigners at risk of life. But the story does not end here: At around 9:00 a.m., the officials found a total of seven felled people in Röhrnbach - six Syrians and an Iraqi aged 14 to 32 who were traveling without ID documents. These saved migrants are now being forwarded to the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees, while some have to fear impending deportation.
