Second sleep leads to spectacular truck accident on A8 near Sindelfingen!

A shocking traffic accident on the A8 near Sindelfingen caused chaos on Wednesday! Around 12.50 p.m., a 31-year-old truck driver apparently lost consciousness for a short moment and steered his vehicle uncontrollably to the left. The fatal maneuver led to the tractor -trailer collided with a lane divider and slipped across all three lanes towards Munich before it finally came to a standstill.

The episodes were devastating! The insufficiently secured load of the truck - a palette with heavy foil rolls - broke through the side wall of the trailer and landed on the road. An Opel of a 20-year-old driver and another vehicle that drove directly behind the truck was damaged. The total damage amounts to shocking 125,000 euros, but luckily it remained in property damage, there was no injured.

rescue measures and traffic jams

The police reacted quickly and temporarily blocked the A8 towards Munich. The fire brigade had to intervene to pump out the truck's damaged tank because operating materials got on the road. The Herrenberg motorway master's shop was also on duty to clean the road. The truck, which was no longer ready to drive, was towed, which led to a massive traffic jam of up to 13 kilometers. All lanes were only passable again around 6:05 p.m., and the traffic was slowly normalizing again.
