S8 closure at Munich: Construction work will be delayed again!

The S8 between Munich-Pasing and Herrsching remains closed longer than expected! Instead of the hoped -for resumption of train traffic on Monday morning, the DB Navigator reported: "No train trips are still possible between Pasing and Herrsching." The reason? An unexpected extension of the construction work! The train renews the tracks that have been in operation since 1982 and urgently need to be replaced.

delays by external company

A spokesman for the railway said that the delay was due to an external overhead line company that did not complete her work on time. This work is crucial so that the overhead line can be activated again. The train is now checking legal steps against the service provider! The route is expected to remain closed on Tuesday, with a possible reopening at the earliest on Wednesday.

The rail replacement traffic continues, but the railway admitted that it only found out about the delay on Sunday and therefore could not organize any buses. Instead, large taxis are used, the capacity of which is limited. The railway warns: "You also expect a significant extension of travel time when it comes to replacement traffic." Passengers are asked to switch to regular buses or individual driving opportunities such as your own car.

Last week the train was still optimistic that the trains would run again on Monday. After a construction site tour in Weßling, the impression was made that the work would be completed on time. Now the train apologizes for the unexpected delays and assures that you work "with high pressure" to complete the work as soon as possible.
