New landlord brings a breath of fresh air to the inn Zur Post in Hohenlinden

In Hohenlinden there is a new host in the Gasthaus Zur Post: Kajo Titus Strauch will take over the management of the traditional restaurant from January 15, 2025. Strauch follows Oskar Lohmaier, who steered the inn for 15 years and had to stop for health reasons. The last opening took place on January 6, 2025 during the traditional Christmas tree auction.

Kajo Titus Strauch has extensive experience in system catering, since he worked for large companies such as McDonald’s, Aldi, Metro and Rewe. Despite the professionalization, he plans to fundamentally change the existing menu, but would also like to try out some new dishes. The host comes from St. Wendel and has a preference for regional cuisine, which he compared with Bavarian cuisine. In his eyes, the inn is not only a place of food, but also a social meeting point and an important part of community life.

social importance of the inn

Strauch emphasizes the importance of table communities for the cooperation and cohesion in the community. He is a committed Catholic and a member of the parish council in Munich. In addition, as a co-author, he participated in a specialist book series about Knigge and social interactions in eating. In order to settle in Hohenlinden, Strauch is looking for another accommodation with his wife Anja, who is active as a children's film author, but does not want to give up Munich as a place of residence.

In a further connection, the Bavarian exhibition "Top House Dying? Wirtshausleben!", Which opened on May 25, 2023 in the Aldersbach monastery, deals with the development of the Bavarian inn culture. This exhibition shows the ascent and present of the taverns and documents the challenges with which they are confronted. How Museum.bayern reported, the inn is known for sociable get -together, music, dance and other activities and represents a significant part of Bavarian life.
