Art for children: Exhibition The world is bright and dark open!

The long and fruitful cooperation between the city of Obernburg and the district of Miltenberg has again carried fruit. On Friday, October 18, the exhibition "The world is bright and dark" was opened with the work of Friederike Franzkowiak. This special show takes place in the Kochsmühle, a place that has served as a platform for cultural experiences for many years. Musically, the vernissage was accompanied by the young, multi -award -winning guitarist Jona Brand, who belongs to the Obernburg Music School.

Although the artist could not be present for health reasons, Mayor Dietmar Fieger regretted this. He mentioned that the completely renovated exhibition rooms that cost 1.1 million euros offer a wonderful framework for art. "The Kochsmühle is the flagship of the city and a muse temple," said Fieger.

Creativity through art promote

Bernd Schötterl, the deputy district administrator Jens Marco Scherf, expressed his joy about the high -quality exhibition. He is convinced that Franzkowiak's works will inspire children and adolescents through interactive tours. So far, there have been only positive feedback from the first visitors. This is only possible through the commitment of a competent team around Margarete Bernhard, Sonja Böhmer, Christiane Leuner, Sabine Stellrecht-Schmidt and Joachim Weissenberger, who supported the exhibition significantly.

The close cooperation between the district's cultural department and gallery owner Cornelia König-Becker contributed to the implementation of this exhibition. She had dealt intensively with Franzkowiak's work and, together with the artist, selected the works that are exhibited in Obernburg. The children and adolescents have the opportunity to deal with the pictures and find creative inspiration in the form of color gradations and topics.

A central topic in Franzkowiak's work is the understanding of light and darkness. "Light and dark cannot be separated," said König-Becker, who takes the view that the title of the exhibition is aptly chosen. Your pictures are not only colorful and accessible, but also encounter the viewer in a way that stimulates a dialogue. They convey hope and invite you to look at different perspectives without presenting destruction and violence.

The versatility of the works is particularly appealing. The abstract paintings such as "in the sea", "My friend of the tree" and "incidence of light" also offer fascinating access to art, which is important for younger visitors. Here, pupils not only find opportunities for creative development, but also for the personal interpretation of the works of art presented.

opening times and guided tours

The exhibition is open until Tuesday, November 12th. Visitors can view the works on Fridays and Saturdays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sundays and public holidays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. without an entry restriction. There are also opportunities for school classes and kindergarten groups to book active tours. Registrations are possible at the cultural department of the Miltenberg district on 09371/501-506.
