Großheubacher municipal council discusses expensive power supply for Grüngutplatz!

In the last meeting of the municipal council in Großheubach, an important topic was discussed that affects the future use of the greenery collection site. Mayor Gernot Winter (CSU) informed the members that offers were obtained for the project and that the installation costs of a power supply in the amount of almost 10,500 euros were addressed. This caused some amazement among the council members, and the question was raised as to whether the previous concept of the collective site should be fundamentally covered.

In consultation with the Miltenberg district office, the municipal administration has clarified the possibility of a container position without major permits. Of a total of 14 offered offers, the economically cheapest is around 5,900 euros. This led to the consideration of avoiding the high cost load due to the power supply. Karl Haarmann (CSU) suggested critically questioning the operating concept of the Grüngutsammelplatz. He pointed out that other cities and municipalities have successfully implemented alternative solutions, such as barriers with camera surveillance. As a result, the need for employees on site could be omitted and monitoring via monitors.

Alternative solutions and heating methods

In the course of the discussion, other options for heating the container were also discussed. The use of gas heating or mobile aggregates was seen as a possible solution, which further questioned the high costs caused by the power connections. The municipal council finally decided that the community should check how similar concepts are implemented in other municipalities and whether they could serve as a model.

In addition, the idea arose that the construction and environmental committee could possibly make location insights at other collection points. This committee has the authority to make decisions unless a vote is very scarce, which would require a new coordination in the local council.

At this session, other topics were also dealt with that are important for the community. An application for a puppet theater in the community house was approved, so that flexible appointment is guaranteed. The board was optimistic about the number of spectators.

Another important topic was the safety of the waterworks in Großheubach. The mayor reported that the current control technology was not protected against malware and external attacks. The committee then unanimously voted for the purchase of a safety package for the waterworks. In addition, alarm software was ordered to modernize the control technology.

The municipality received gratifying news for the expansion of the traffic node three: the funding now amounts to 720,000 euros, which is more than originally expected. This additional funding was also accepted and considered a positive development.

Finally, there was a reference to various local beautification measures that result from the revenue of the festival year »125 years of church consecration«. A flour berry was planted in the tree-of-year park, and new lying benches were placed on the banks of the Main, which were financed by sponsors such as the FriPa company and the Sparkasse.

These topics and the associated decisions reflect the commitment of the local council to actively develop the municipality of Großheubach and to increase the quality of life of the residents. When continuing of such projects, it remains to be hoped that the planned measures can be effectively implemented in order to continue to offer the municipality of practical solutions.
