Bavarian champion Cedric Bopp: laying tiles with passion and precision

A young star in the tiler heaven! Cedric Bopp, only 19 years old and from Eschau, has secured the title of the Bavarian master in tiling! After an outstanding journeyman's examination, which he completed with the grade "good" as the best apprentice in Lower Franconia, he was invited to the Bavarian championship. This took place on October 9th and 10th in the Bavarian Building Academy in Feuchtwangen, where he had to assert himself against three other talented district winners.

But how did Cedric become a master? The participants had two days to make impressive tile work - a 1.20 meter to a 1.80 meter size of a flower pot with a flower. The pressure was enormous: too many cut tiles were able to make the project fail. Cedric Bopp managed to get by with his materials, while his competitors had to struggle with waste and could not end their work. "It was just enough for me," reports the new master proudly.

The way to the German championship

The next challenge is already waiting for Cedric: In mid-November he will compete at the German Championship in Bühl, Baden-Württemberg. There he will compete against around ten other national champions. His father, René Bopp, himself tiler and instructor, will accompany him. "The tile work was very demanding," says the proud father and emphasizes that Cedric works particularly precisely and enjoys his job.

Cedric has great dreams: his goal is to become part of the national tiler team and to start at a European championship or world championship at some point. "I like the difficult work in my job," he explains. And while the masterpiece, which has earned him the title, is to find a place of honor in the Bopps ESCHAUER residential building, his father is already planning a new workshop - perhaps the starting signal for Cedrics Weg to international!
