Two mayors in the race: Who will be Miesbacher District Administrator in 2026?
The political stage in the Miesbach district is getting hotter! The speculations are over: Mayor Jens Zangenfeind from Hausham and Franz Schnitzenbaumer from Schliersee have officially announced their ambitions for the district office in 2026. Zangenfeind, who has had the support of his party, the Free Voting Community (FWG), and Schnitzenbaumer, who goes into the race for the CSU, forego a new candidacy as mayor. A clear step towards the district policy!
The decision of District Administrator Olaf von Löwis (CSU) not to compete again has set the course for the successor. The CSU district board unanimously proposed Schnitzenbaumer than its candidate. The experienced politician, who has been directing the fortunes in Schliersee since 2006, not only brings experience, but also the commitment to tackle the challenges at the district level. "A great news for all of us!" Cheers the CSU local association.
The candidates are determined!
Jens Zangenfeind has also clearly positioned itself: "I am ready to run for the office of the district administrator when the support is there!" With overwhelming approval from his party and the support of his family, he dared to take the step. He not only wants to continue the official business, but also to initiate and implement large projects. "Continuity is the key to the future of our district!", Emphasizes Zangenfeind.
The FWG is already planning to nominate a successor to Zangenfeind as mayor. The nomination of the district administrator is still pending, but the signs indicate an exciting election campaign. The political waves in the Miesbach district hit up, and the voters can be excited to see who is in the end!
