But behind this colorful picture, dark shadows lurk. Violence against women and girls is everyday, indigenous peoples fight for their rights, while mega projects exploit nature and threaten the livelihood of many people. The group exhibition deals with these voltage fields and illuminates the diverse perspectives on life in the land of Aztecs and Maya.
feminist voices raised!
Five talented artists open up a new look at the role of women in Mexican society with their creative strength. The exhibition is a powerful comment on the sexual assault that girls and women experience. Art becomes a resistance instrument here - a cry for change in the hope of a world without violence!
A highlight is the panel discussion on October 26 on the topic "Mexican women's movement: a life in and for resistance - a comparative perspective", moderates from the well -known journalist and former member of the Bundestag Claudia Stamm. There is also a captivating lecture on October 27 from the investigative journalist Vania Pigeonutt, who talks about the fate of the 43 disappeared students from Ayotzinapa and illuminates the connections between local topics and global challenges.
The planned workshop with the opera singer Maria José Rodriguez on November 6 promises to introduce the audience to the world of feminist art, while on November 17th Dr. Tanja Mancinelli lectures on eco -feminism in Mexico.
