Future of heat supply: geothermal energy or pellet heating for Neuendorf?

A dramatic water damage in the Rathaus in Neuendorfer forced the municipality to act! A rusty water pipe converted the fuel room of the old oil heating into a water chaos. Mayor Karlheinz Albert initiated and proposed to replace the 37 -year -old oil heating with a new pellet heating. But that was only the beginning - the desire for a comprehensive examination of a local heating network was loud!

In the municipal council meeting, municipal council Markus Kübert presented the results of a feasibility check for heat supply for kindergarten, rectory, rectory and parish hall. The options? A decentralized air heating pump, pellet heating or a central geothermal monster system! Kübert said that the geothermal probe system would win heating energy through a probe field, which is distributed via a cold local heating network. The highlight: unisole pipes could be used for the distribution!

The numbers speak for themselves!

The geothermal heat would be obtained in the garden of the kindergarten by eight holes of 130 meters. The investments for geothermal energy, including the network, amount to an estimated 160,000 euros. Kübert presented the heating costs for a period of 20 years: The air heat pump does the best with 14.5 cents per kilowatt hour, followed by the pellet heating with 15.2 cents. The geothermal variant is 16 cents per kilowatt hour. With a lifespan of the geothermal probe of around 100 years, geothermal energy even becomes the cheapest option over 50 years!

Now for the municipality it is important to grasp the consumption and flow temperatures over the winter in order to enable more detailed calculations. Mayor Albert praised Kübert's detailed analyzes as valuable decision -making aid. City councilor Alexandra Breitenbach was delighted with the planned cooling for kindergarten, while second mayor Bernhard Ries emphasized the "very revealing information". A race against time to find the best solution for heat supply!
