Warning strike at Procter & Gamble: Employees demand 7% more wages!

A dramatic outcry in Altfeld! On Thursday at 2 p.m., around 110 committed employees of the Procter & Gamble plant laid down the work for an hour to emphasize their demand for higher wages. This warning strike, organized by IG Metall, is a clear sign of the dismissal about the employer offer that is too low in the current tariff round of the Bavarian metal and electrical industry.

The union calls for a wage increase of seven percent and an additional increase in training allowances by 170 euros. Norbert Zirnsak, the first authorized representative of IG Metall Würzburg, criticized the discrepancy between the lush dividend distributions and the lean wage offers. "If you can pay high dividends, you should also be able to pay fair wages for the employees who create the basis for this success every day," he emphasized.

strong votes of the workforce

Jonas Hörnig, chairman of the works council at Procter & Gamble in Marktheidenfeld, summed up the mood of the workforce: "The work of our employees is the backbone of the company. We therefore want a fair remuneration that is in line with the enormous profits and the dividends released to shareholders." The clear message: The employees are ready to fight for their rights!

IG Metall announced that the warning strikes in the Würzburg region will continue in the coming week in order to further increase the pressure on employers and to support the wage claims. A huge sign of a fair payment - the wave of resistance is rolling!
