Natural gardens of the Main-Spessart district: Awards for green heroes!

Lohr-Sendelbach, Deutschland - In the Main-Spessart district, the gardens shine in new splendor! Eight garden owners were awarded the coveted title "Naturgarten", a sign of their outstanding care of biodiversity. This award is part of the program "Bavaria blooms - natural gardens", which puts the love of nature and sustainable garden management in the foreground. The certification takes place by the experts from the district association for horticulture and state care Main-Spessart, who put the gardens put through their paces in July 2024.

In a festive ceremony in the land hotel "Zur Alten Post" in Lohr-Sendelbach, the proud garden owners received their certificates and badges from Bettina Weissenberger, the second chairman of the district association, and the new managing director Sandra Inderwies. The Mattis family, who even runs an excellent "Market Garden" in Waldzell, then led the guests through their flowering garden. The excellent gardens are a real paradise: from Heike Müller's home garden in Wernfeld to Dr. Susanne Neuners Garden in Lohr - each garden tells its own history of ecological diversity.

The certification rewardes environmentally friendly garden management, which dispenses with chemical-synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. With clear core criteria and additional recommendations to promote biodiversity, the associations set standards for sustainable gardening.
