In a glamorous ceremony, two outstanding wineries from Main-Spessart were honored for their extraordinary Franconia wines! The Bavarian Minister of State Michaela Kaniber and the deputy district administrator Christoph Vogel presented the coveted awards in the historic vaulted cellar of the Würzburg residence. An evening full of pride and recognition for the winemakers who work with passion and dedication!

The Höfling winery from Eußenheim was particularly bright because it received the Bavarian State Honor Award - the greatest honor in the Witness of the Free State! Winzer Christine Pröstler from Retzbach was able to look forward to the honorary award of the Main-Spessart district. A total of four state honor prices and 14 honorary prizes were awarded that evening, which impressively demonstrates the high quality of the wines in the region.

top performance in viticulture

The Staundehra Prize is awarded to companies that have achieved the best award rate in Franconian wine award in the past three years. During this time, the Höfling winery collected incredible 36 gold medals, 28 silver medals and 6 bronze medals! With a size of 15 to 50 hectares, the Eußenheim winery has won this prestigious price for the third time. Christine Pröstler can also look back on an impressive balance sheet, because it is her third honorary award of the district!

Christoph Vogel presented the winemaker a unique shell limestone profile from her vineyard as a price. "Viticulture is a formative element in our district. I am very proud that we have such renowned wineries in Main-Spessart, which are made with a lot of passion and high personal commitment," emphasized Vogel. An evening full of shine and honor for viticulture in Main-Spessart!
