New residential project in Landsberg: 12 funded apartments for families!
An exciting day for Landsberg am Lech! The construction of a new apartment building at Katharinenstraße 64 was now heralded with a symbolic groundbreaking ceremony. This construction project is the first of its kind that is realized by the municipal housing association (WBG) and promises to create urgently needed subsidized living space. The modern building will include a total of twelve residential units that are designed especially for young families and people with medium to low incomes.
The new house will consist of six two-room and six three-room apartments, which are distributed over an area of around 744 square meters. The apartments are designed so that they offer space for two to three people. But the project goes beyond the mere apartments: on the property there will also be a children's playground, parking spaces for bicycles and residents as well as a community garden. A real gain for the neighborhood!
Important support for the construction project
The construction work begins in January 2025 with the excavation of the construction pit, and WBG managing director Alexander Ziegler expects a completion by the end of 2025. The entire project has a volume of around 4.3 million euros, with the Free State of Bavaria generous grants of around 800,000 euros and interest-bearing loans from the EOF program. "Affordable living is one of the most pressing political issues of our time," emphasized Mayor Doris Baumgartl at the groundbreaking ceremony and emphasized the responsibility that the city takes over to achieve this goal.
The WBG will announce further information on the application and rental of the apartments next year. A step in the right direction for the city of Landsberg am Lech, which is actively committed to creating living space!
