Landsberg 2025: A year full of captivating celebrations and events

In the district of Landsberg, several larger events are on the program in 2024. The recurring appointments include the carnival parades, the Kaltenberg knight games and the art night. The carnival parades begin in February with the Gaudiwurm in Landsberg. February 27th is scheduled for lumpy Thursday, followed by parades in Untermühlhausen on March 1 and in Epfach on Mardi Gras, March 4. The big move in Igling is planned for 2026.

Particular attention is paid to the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of various fire departments in the district. The Erpfting fire brigade celebrates its anniversary on the last weekend in May with a marquee, a party and a classic car show. Furthermore, the Kaufering fire brigade celebrates from June 20th to 22nd and the Rott fire brigade on July 12th and 13th with a Lechgau traditional festival. The southern German pottery market will take place on the St. Laurent du-Var-prom-promenade on July 12th and 13th, and the Dießen potter market is on May 29th at Lake Ammersee. In addition, many fire departments in Bavaria celebrate their 150th anniversary in 2023. The Bavarian State Fire Brigade Association was founded in 1868, which led to a doubling of the number of fire departments. In addition to the foundation of the association, the state support fund was created in 1872, which provided fire brigade associations from their liability and volunteer firefighters offered insurance coverage and financial support in operations. Today Bavaria has around 7,500 fire departments, and until 1873 their number had almost doubled.
