Breathe in Wallenfels: New Kreisstraße after millions of investment!
Wallenfels, Deutschland - The Kronach district has taken a dynamic step to improve the transport infrastructure. District road 31, which leads from Wallenfels to the district border near Geuser, was extensively renewed over a period of almost one and a half years. According to district administrator Klaus Löffler, the investments amounted to an impressive 6.9 million euros. "The road is in extremely poor condition and we urgently had to act, especially for security reasons," said Löffler. He emphasized that the widening in particularly dangerous areas of the road will contribute to an accident avoidance to up to eleven meters.
The construction work, which was carried out in two sections over a length of about four kilometers, included not only the renewal of the road surface, but also the establishment of an effective drainage system. Especially elaborate rock security work on an area of around 5000 square meters was also realized in order to significantly increase safety for all road users, as Löffler adds. To finance, the district received grants from 85 percent of the eligible costs from the Free State of Bavaria, which delighted the district administrator. "We have created a street that fully meets the modern requirements," Mayor Jens Korn praised the first -class implementation of the project, as was emphasized by the state transport meeting representative Thomas Engel, who emphasized the importance of this construction work for the local transport network.
