Sound tradition: Church concert in Volkach enthusiastically on the Memorial Day
A musical highlight awaits visitors on the Memorial Day in the St. Bartholomäus Church in Volkach! On Sunday, November 17, 2024, the Volkacher Main loop music school invites you to the traditional church concert of the youth wind orchestra (JBO). Under the direction of Armin Stawitzki, a varied program is offered that combines both brass music and the sounds of the new organ.
From 4 p.m., the audience in St. Bartholomäus will be spoiled with the "Cantata Jubilata" program. Visitors can look forward to a musical interplay between the orchestra and the organist Karl-Heinz Sauer. The highlights include the famous "Halleluja" by Leonard Cohen and "Mood Romantic" by Johan Nijs, as well as popular classics such as "Möge the Straße" and "From good powers". Last year the church was filled to the last seat, and the JBO hopes to attract many music lovers again this time.
Free admission - donations welcome!
The new organ will be heard in two solo works and in the interaction with the orchestra in Henry Purcell's "Trumpet Tune". Particularly noteworthy are the solo appearances by Jana Brandt and Emma Sebald on the trumpet in the play "My Secret Lovesong". Entry to the concert is free, but donations are requested for youth work and new organization. A musical experience that should not be missed!
