New life for old information board: Altmühlmünster shines in shine!
In a remarkable step to upgrade the historical site in Altmühlmünster, Klaus Amann from the association MDK-Schiffahrt-Altmühltal, Mayor Thomas Zehetbauer and Tanja Pfeiffer from the Tourist Info recently revealed the newly renovated information board to the Templar Kommentei. Thanks to a generous 50 percent promotion by the MDK shipping Altmühltal and the support of the city of Riedenburg, which covers the remaining costs, the sign now shines in new splendor. An attentive citizen had noticed the desolate state of the approximately 25 year old sign and quickly moved the tourist information to action.
A look back at the story
The appointment was particularly important for Amann; It was a return to a place that reminded him of his professional beginnings in the Kelheim district. "That was my first funding project - at that time in the course of the designation of the Roßkopfsteig," said Amann. With the renewal of the information board, not only the history of Templer Komurei is recognized, but also the attractiveness of the popular hiking trail, which is now celebrating its 25th anniversary, is increased. The new construction promises a shelf life of at least another 25 years, which could further boost visitors in the region.
The information board is not only an information medium, but also a symbol for the appreciation of regional history and culture. The initiative shows how important it is to maintain historical sites and make it accessible to future generations.
