Asylum accommodation opened in Kelheim: residents in turmoil!

In the small town of Kelheim, construction is made to an enormous extent! The controversial L-shaped container asylum accommodation in the farmers' settlement is now ready for occupancy and willing to change life. The first refugees will soon move in - and that this year! Up to 80 people find a new home here, and the anticipation is already tangible.

resistance and permits

But the way to this accommodation was anything but easy. Local residents showered the plans with protests and threw the city of Kelheim into a whirlpool of resistance. The city initially refused approval for the construction project, but the district office found a way to tip the decision. A desperate resident tried to stop the project before the Regensburg Administrative Court, but here too the success was denied. The containers are now proudly in the middle of a heated debate that has already heated many people.

This development is not only a strong sign that the accommodation of refugees in Germany is still in focus, but also raises questions: Will residents ever cope with the situation? Who will actually move into this system? The answers remain to be seen. The events in Kelheim could be the beginning of a new era in the region's asylum policy!
