Eight percent more salary for Caritas employees: demands increase!
Eight percent more salary for Caritas employees: demands increase!
A huge outcry from the Caritas facilities! The approximately 700,000 employees demand a whopping eight percent more salary in the 2025 tariff round! This request also affects the employees of the St. Lukas Hospital in Kelheim, who work under Caritas contracts. The employee page, which is located in the "Labor Law Commission of the German Caritas Association", has solidarized with the negotiation goals of the ver.di trade union for the public service.
The demands are clear and unequivocal: in addition to the eight percent or at least 350 euros more per month, employees also require higher surcharges for particularly stressful activities. In addition, three additional days off are on the list to take the increasing workload into account. Access to partial retirement is also to be improved, and the employees require paid breaks for shifts of the change. There is also a clear demand for the approximately 49,000 trainees and interns: 200 euros more a month!
negotiation structure and effects
In contrast to the usual unions, the “employee page” represents the “employee side” of the employees and labor law interests of the employees. This page is equally opposed to the "employer side", and the result of these negotiations is recorded in the "AVR Caritas" tariff. The tariff round 2025 will affect all employees, with the exception of doctors and teachers. The tension increases and the eyes are aimed at negotiations - will Caritas give in to the demands?
