Reservists of the mountain hunter battalion 233: Aktiv again at home!
in Mittenwald, the heart of the mountain hunters beats again! Former soldiers of the mountain hunter battalion 233 gathered for an exciting further training weekend in order to refresh their climbing skills and show their connection to the Bundeswehr. From car mechanics to carpenters-these reservists are scattered all over Germany, but the military homeland withdraws!
The reservist clerk invited to a practical mountain training that began on Friday. Equipped with personal climbing equipment, the participants practiced knot and bundles before daring to the climbing garden near Scharnitz. The challenge was great: abseiling from a 30 meter high overhang and rapid rope walking trips provided adrenaline thickness and aroused old memories. For many it was a welcome change to their civil professions!
commitment and further education
The reservists showed an impressive commitment despite different previous knowledge. Major Bernd praised her will to perform and encouraged her to actively capture the mountain hunting. "This is a way to sniff back into the active troops without obligation," emphasized Lieutenant Rudolf Hofmann. The importance of the reservists has increased enormously through the current security policy developments. They make a decisive contribution to fulfilling the orders of the battalion, as recently during the NATO exercise "Nordic Response" in Norway.
The Mittenwald hunters rely on close integration of active soldiers and reservists. "I make no difference between active soldiers and reservists," said Lieutenant Colonel Rudolf Hofmann. A new pilot project with reservists from Berchtesgaden, Bad Reichenhall and Mittenwald will pass on the positive experience in training and strengthen cooperation. The reservists are ready to show their skills and integrate them back into the active troops!
