New mother-child house in Garmisch: a ray of hope for families!
Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Deutschland - In an exciting update, BR television reports on a groundbreaking project in the popular program “We in Bavaria”, which is promoted by great moments. The focus is on the new building of the mother-child house "St. Monika" in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, which creates urgently needed space for pregnant women and parents with children.
With impressive funding of one million euros, great -hour has enabled the cultivation to the old building, which increased the number of residential units to a total of ten. Before the new building, the house only offered space for four women with children, which, considering the enormous demand in the region, was not sufficient. In 2017, the Social Service of Catholic Women (SKF) Garmisch-Partenkirchen had to reject over 70 inquiries-an alarming sign of the urgent need for support.

Thanks to the new extension, two apartments in the old building and eight are now available in the new building, which offer pregnant women as well as mothers and fathers with children. The opening ceremony of the mother-child house took place on September 20, 2024 and marked an important step in improving the living situation for needy families in the region.
