Unterhaching has to renovate dilapidated roads themselves: expensive challenges ahead!

Unterhaching, Deutschland - A financial disaster is in Unterhaching! The emerging community, now over 25,000 inhabitants, faces enormous costs. From 2025 it has to pay for the maintenance of the district and state roads- and that means shocking 9 million euros for dilapidated streets and overdue renovations. The responsibility, which was once with the district or the state building authority Freising, now falls on the shoulders of the community.

The decisive roads that are affected include the state road 2368, which leads through the heart of Unterhaching, and several important district roads. While the municipal council had a job for a civil engineering engineer, it quickly becomes clear: the staff is not sufficient to cope with the new challenges. "We will no longer be after the existing staff," explains the building manager Stefan Lauszat - and not for no reason!

uncertainty and unexpected costs

The real challenge: the unknown quality of the streets that Unterhaching has to take over. It is like buying a used car - nobody knows which hidden defects hide under the surface. "Do we take on intact streets or did the state building authority be minking?" Asks Lauszat. The municipality expects answers in vain and may be faced with horrendous renovation costs. The state compensation? A ridiculous amount of just 300,000 euros is in the room.

"We now have to take over this ailing infrastructure that literally falls on our feet," says town hall spokesman Simon Hötzl. In particular, the railway underpass on Münchner Straße, which is regularly under water, is a prime example of the challenges that lie in front of the community. The principle of connexuality, which should actually provide compensatory payments for such additional loads, does not seem to reach in Unterhaching and puts the municipality into an immobilizing clash. How long can the municipality still do this financial challenge without the citizens feeling the consequences?
