Dispute over middle school: Mayor Niedermair defends himself against allegations

Hallbergmoos, Deutschland - Political turbulence in Hallbergmoos! The renovation of the roof of the middle school heated the minds and led to a violent dispute between Mayor Josef Niedermair and the former chairman of the auditing committee, Wolfgang Reiland. After massive criticism of Niedermair's management, the mayor vehemently defends himself against the allegations that accuse him of having exposed to municipal council resolutions and roughly violated his information obligations.

"Talk to each other - this is how problems can be solved", the motto of Niedermair has been revealed since he took office in 2021. But now he literally reveals the allegations that were rejected in a press release from the community. The roof renovation became necessary after it became known that the PV system was not properly installed, which led to tension cracks and moisture damage. The Situation was classified as so dangerous that passers -by could be in danger in wind and storm.

The conflict escalates

The building committee then released 1.7 million euros for the renovation. Reiland, in his role as a chief accounting auditor, asked the question of whether the municipality was not entitled to compensation. However, the community assessed the chances of recourse to be extremely low. On July 22, it was decided to commission the municipal examination association (BKPV) with a technical assessment, but Niedermair interrupted the planning process. Finally, the local council decided not to commission the BKPV, which Reiland saw as a "last chance" to uncover the grievances when building construction.

Niedermair counters the allegations and emphasizes that he respected the committees and the opinion of Reiland. "There can be no question of information failures," he explains, referring to comprehensive communication with the council members. Despite all the allegations, he remains calm and emphasizes that the plans were continued after the committee decision. "All delays are not our responsibility," said Niedermair. However, while he rejects the allegations, he realizes that Reiland's efforts to find a guilty were "honorable" to relieve the taxpayers.
