Social budget 2025: District Administrator warns of financial bottlenecks!
Freising, Deutschland - The financial situation in the Freising district is tense! District Administrator Helmut Petz (FW) presented the social budget for 2025, and the message is clear: "Small benefits are preserved" is a challenge. The grant requirement increases by 1.22 million euros to a total of 13.06 million euros, which corresponds to an alarming increase of 10.32 percent. But the air will be thin - only 200,000 euros are still available to fulfill the most urgent wishes.
The district faces enormous mandatory tasks that cannot be easily resounded. Gelder for public transport is bound in the long term and the renovation of bike paths could be pushed to the long bank to finance other projects. The social committee recommended the submitted budget for approval, with the exception of Bianca Csonka (AfD), which opposed the proposal.
claims and conflicts in the district council
The financial misery ensures heated debates in the district council. Rainer Schneider (FW) said that he had never experienced a comparable situation as a district council in his almost thirty years. He warned that the quality of life of the people should not be affected, even if there are some benefits on the brink. Gregor Wild (CSU) agreed and complained that the distinction between volunteers and compulsory services in the household was not clear.
The tensions escalate when Robert Wäger (Greens) defends himself against the choice of Schneider's choice. "Speaking of benefits is a cheek," emphasizes Wäger and defends the humanitarian tasks of the district. Another point of dispute is the loss of trade tax revenue due to the emigration of an electronics group from Hallbergmoos to Garching, which also tightens the financial situation. Wäger warns that the elimination of voluntary services could have catastrophic consequences for the communities. The bureaucracy is identified as a great obstacle that drives the costs.
