Pure nostalgia: Woastas-no evening is reminiscent of the cult discotheque Tenne
In the small community of Au in the Hallertau, people look back nostalgically on the glorious times of the cult discotheque "Tenne". This event was a popular meeting place in the 1960s and 1980s, especially after the service on Sunday. The doors opened on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays - a place for celebrations and conviviality. But on June 30, 1986, the lights of the "Tenne" went out, a concept that put an abrupt end to the joyful evening hours.
The "Tenne" was not only known in Freising, but also attracted guests from the entire region, which made them a legendary discotheque. However, their popularity was not without problems, because the noise pollution was serious for the residents. Ultimately, the purchase of the restaurant by the municipality led to the "Tenne". Despite protests by the young guests and numerous failed petitions, the fate of the discotheque was sealed.
memories are awake
Next Saturday, October 19, the "Tenne" in the Schlossbräukeller Au will be honored in a very special way. The event "Woastas-No evening" brings together former guests and fans of the discotheque. Ritsch Ermeier, a passionate fan and a former regular guest, is one of the organizers who have launched this event with a lot of anticipation. The evening will begin with a kind of regulars' table where those present can share their stories and experiences, accompanied by the opportunity to record these stories and later publish them in a podcast.
One of the other highlights of the evening is a dance party that begins from around 9:30 p.m. and is led by DJ Tom Sachsenhauser, who has already played in the heyday of the "Tenne". The organizers expect around 200 guests from different years, especially from the years from 1955 to 1966, with younger visitors also invited.
already before the official celebration there has been a privately organized summer festival on a meadow in the west of Au since the discotheque was closed. Here is an obelisk, the monument to memory of the "Tenne", which was launched by Peter Meyer-Diener. This symbolic place testifies to the experiences experienced and the togetherness of the former guests.
In summary, the "Woastas-No evening" becomes an important moment for many previous party guests. Not only is there a review of the past, but also a celebration of the common heritage and the memories that this iconic discotheque has left. Admission to the event is free of charge, and the evening promises a mixture of nostalgia and scenery that will lead visitors back in the past decades of "tenne".
