New trucks and 16 bicycles: Freising strengthens traffic education!

An exciting update for the youth traffic school in the Freising district! The district recently purchased a brand new truck and 16 fresh bicycles to optimize traffic education for little cyclists. The new truck replaces an old model that has been in use for many years and now offers a comfortable handling with a practical lifting platform. District Administrator Helmut Petz handed over the vehicle to the police inspections Freising and Neufahrn as part of a lesson to transport the valuable equipment for traffic education.

"Youth transportation at primary schools is an important building block in the curriculum," emphasized District Administrator Petz. Since the introduction of this subject in 1973, school accidents have decreased significantly. Statistics speaks volumes: Children who were trained in youth traffic schools are demonstrably less often involved in accidents than their peers without this training. The fourth graders learn everything they need to know for safety in road traffic - from traffic -proof bicycles to the correct behavior on zebra crossing to the traffic rules.

The investment in the new truck and the bicycles amounts to around 130,000 euros, with the Bavarian traffic watch provided a grant. The truck is specially tailored to the needs of the youth traffic school and offers enough space for the entire equipment, including bicycles, traffic signs and numbered warning vests. Bettina Prüglmeier and Theresa Fersch from the police inspections are used almost daily during school time to teach the elementary school students the bicycle ABC and optimally prepare them for the cycling test.

With this new equipment, traffic education for the children in the Freising district is not only more effective, but also safer. The lifting platform in the truck makes it easier to load and unload the bicycles and traffic signs, which revolutionizes the entire logistics for traffic education. A big step towards more safety in road traffic for young cyclists!
