New challenges in Freising: Additional accommodations for refugees necessary!
Freising, Deutschland - In the district of Freising, the accommodation in Vötting was opened in May 2024 in order to meet the growing number of asylum seekers. In 2024, an average of 2479 asylum seekers lived in the district, which were distributed on 94 decentralized houses and apartments as well as four shared accommodation from the Upper Bavaria government (as of October 2024). Allershausen, Attenkirchen, Eching, Freising and many others are represented among the communities with asylum seekers. At the moment, 1036 asylum seekers and 1465 leaders from 50 nations live in the district, with the main domestic origin of Afghanistan, Nigeria and Turkey. There have been 628 new additions since January 1, 2024.
support offers and challenges
The effort for the accommodation and support of the asylum seekers includes various areas, including the maintenance of accommodation, the provision of health insurance, cash benefits and services according to the education and participation law. Low -threshold social pedagogical care is also required to support asylum seekers and prevent conflicts. This social pedagogical support is taken over by free welfare associations such as Caritas, Diakonie and Invia, while the district office is responsible for the presence and hygiene control. Volunteers also make valuable contributions and take part in a monthly “round table” in the district office to exchange ideas.
A focus is also on providing additional accommodations, especially for Ukrainian refugees. These are initially accommodated in the former staff building on the General-von-Stein barracks in Freising.
To improve the integration and support of asylum seekers, the full -time integration pilot is also active, which promotes networking and coordination between the professional and voluntary level in the field of asylum. He trains helpers, informs about framework conditions such as insurance protection and strengthens cooperation with welfare associations and churches. Monthly meetings of the "Round Table" offer space for the exchange between volunteers and full-time employees, such as Kreis Freising
