Freising, Deutschland - Around 300 children are the focus of a special musical event in Freising on October 19. The 3rd Diocesan Children's and Youth Choir Day of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising attracts young singers who are preparing for a varied program. At free concerts, the children and adolescents present their rehearsed music pieces, which will be heard in different places in the old town.

The performances begin at 2 p.m. at various locations, including the Roider-Jackl fountain, the citizens' office on Marienplatz, Moosach and the Sparkasse. Other venues include the parish church of St. Georg and the Heiliggeistpital, where the young choir singers will delight visitors with their performances.

part of a larger festival

The choir day is an essential part of the celebrations for the diocese anniversary "1300 years Korbinian in Freising". This means that not only the music is in the foreground, but also the deeply rooted history of the community is recognized. This day also marks the start for the upcoming international choir festival of the Pueri Cantores, which will take place in Munich in 2025. You expect around 5000 young talented singers from all over the world who will come together at this important event.

Auxiliary Bishop Wolfgang Bischof will finally accompany the day with a snack in the Mariendom of Freising at 4:45 p.m. This celebration will not only serve the children's musical performances, but will also act as a spiritual highlight of the day. The diocesan coordinator for the diocese anniversary, Bishop Bishop, is a central player at this event and will underline the importance of the occasion through its presence.
