In the Freising district, the upcoming weekend from October 18 to 2024 is all about a variety of cultural and social events. From exhibitions to concerts to festival services, the residents and visitors are offered a diverse program that presents both local talent and international artists.

One of the most outstanding events is the exhibition "724. Men. Make. Stories", which can be seen in the Diocesan Museum until November 3. This comprehensive presentation allows visitors to a tour of 25 stations on the entire Domberg, where they can immerse themselves in the history and power structures of the region. Admission is free, and opening times are from Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 12 noon to 5 p.m.

In addition, the Diocesan Museum offers other exciting exhibitions, such as "Tassilo, Korbinian and Bär. Bavaria in the early Middle Ages", which runs until November 3. In addition to the history, the exhibition "Icons against War" also deals with current topics. Here Ukrainian artists have created icons on ammunition boxes and are therefore part of the anniversary program "1300 years of Korbinian in Freising". This work can be seen in the parish church of St. Georg until October 26th.

Another highlight is the exhibition "Caution on arrival", which can be seen in the European Künstlerhaus Schafhof until December 1st and artistically illuminated the topic of travel and the associated changes.

The cathedral concert for the anniversary year, in which Anton Bruckner's "Te Deum" is performed on Sunday at 7.30 p.m. in the Mariendom. The concert evening is designed by the cathedral choir, the cathedral orchestra and musicians of the LMU Munich.

artistic highlights and social commitment

music lovers can also look forward to the “Rock meets Classic” concert on Friday at 8 p.m. in the Luitpoldhalle, which is presented by RPWL and the Freising Symphony Orchestra. If you like it a little more relaxed, you can come to the sporreller on the same evening to see textile works of art and pictures of the Freising Schnipsi circle, which are exhibited until October 20th.

The “Freisinger Bank Kinder-Konzert” on Sunday at 5 p.m. will be an experience, especially for younger visitors, in which the talented 3-Klang students present a colorful hands-on program.

In the city, there are also numerous opportunities for active participation and help, for example with biotope care in the Freising Moos, which will be organized on Saturday from 2 p.m. All volunteers are welcome to protect and maintain nature together.

The program also offers social projects, as the “In Syria help” the KAB Freising St. Lantpert, which will accept clothing donations on Friday from 2pm to 1pm and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

All of these events make the upcoming weekend in the Freising district an ideal opportunity to experience art, culture and community up close. For more information and a detailed overview of the events, see the current reporting on www.sueddeutsche.de .
