Bavarian state exhibition: 75,744 visitors celebrate the Middle Ages!

Freising, Deutschland - A spectacle of history ended on Sunday, November 3, when the Bavarian State Exhibition 2024 “Tassilo, Korbinian and the Bear” closed its goals. On the Domberg in Freising, impressive 75,744 visitors flocked to the fascinating world of the early Middle Ages. In addition, the special exhibition "724. Men. Power. Stories" of the Diocesan Museum and the Domkirchen Foundation recorded 27,654 further visits. The high number of visitors speaks volumes about the interest in Bavarian history!

Extra -class visitor feedback

The exhibition was a complete success! A survey of under 11,000 visitors showed that 87 percent rated the exhibition as "good" or "very good". The interactive hands-on and media stations in particular inspired 88 percent of the guests. An impressive 80 percent share of the visitors came to Freising specially to experience this unique exhibition. "A wonderful, impressive exhibition," said Marta Christina Hoffmann from Lindau. The feedback shows that the exhibition was not only informative, but also entertaining!

school classes in the decline

Despite the high satisfaction, there are also dark side: visiting school classes is declining. Dr. Richard Loibl, director of the Bavarian History House, expressed his concern about bureaucratic hurdles and the increasing costs of bus trips that make schools difficult to organize excursions. This development could influence the future visitor balance sheet, but the individual visitor numbers are gratifyingly high.

Many thanks to all sponsors and partners who have made this major project possible, in particular to the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising, which have contributed significantly to the application and implementation of the exhibition. The future looks promising, with new exhibitions that are already planned for 2025!
