The Russian troops continue their advance, and the strategically important city of Kurachowe is about to go. The losses on the Russian side are also huge, with over 115,000 soldiers who have fallen and more than half a million wounded.

Selenskyjs peace plans and Russia's conditions

Selenskyj adheres to his “peace formula”, which demands the complete withdrawal of the Russian troops from Ukraine. However, in view of the military reality, he admits that not all occupied areas have to be recaptured. Negotiations could be a solution, but Kiev rejects the required waiver of NATO accession. In the meantime, Russia has tightened its conditions for negotiations and demands that Ukraine do without the occupied areas.
