Christmas blue light convoy: 500 gingerbread for Erlangen's nurses!

Erlangen, Deutschland - The blue light campaign 2024 at the University Hospital Erlangen enjoyed great participation and a festive atmosphere. Organized by Simeon Ulm from the Bergwacht Erlangen, a total of 500 gingerbread was presented to the nursing service of the university hospital on December 27, 2024. This gesture was a thank you to the nursing teams for their commitment and devotion during the Christmas season.

This year's blue light campaign gathered 16 vehicles and about 80 involved, which made it a larger event than in previous years. The convoy drove past several clinics, including the children's and youth clinic, the women's clinic, the surgical center and the internal center. Christmas music was played over loudspeakers, while a turntable ladder was extended to the children's clinic to make Santa Claus visible to the young patients.

Diverse support of blue light organizations

The organizations involved included the volunteer fire brigade in Erlangen, the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund, the Bavarian Red Cross Erlangen-Höchstadt, the police, the Wasserwacht, the German Life Rescue Society Erlangen and Dechsendorf, the Technical Relief Agency and the Mountain Wachth. The donation for the campaign was shared with the nursing service of the university clinic in order to emphasize the cohesion and support in the difficult time of the holidays.

In addition, the fifth blue light campaign at the University Hospital Erlangen took place on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. This campaign had the goal of creating a festive atmosphere for patients, employees and onlookers and started at 6 p.m. Around 60 helpers from various blue light organizations took part. The route led through the hospital and university road, with a stop at the women's clinic and the surgical center, before the campaign on the Piazetta ended in front of the university clinics, such as Infranken.de reported.
