In the exciting DHB Cup game between Gummersbach and Erlangen, the spectators had to see a true thriller in the end. Erlangen started with a lot of momentum and led 6-2 after only ten minutes. But Gummersbach was fighting and was able to compensate for an impressive 3-0 run, with the players Ellidi Snaer Vidarsson, Lukas Blohme and Miro Schluroff crucial.
From the middle of the first half, Gummersbach took the command and expanded the lead to 14:10 up to the 27th minute. But Erlangen did not give up and shortened shortly before the half -time break by Antonio Metzner to 14:11.

In a dramatic final phase, Gömmel missed a decisive seven meter seven seconds before the final whistle and could not make the compensation, even though he was the best shooter of the game with eight goals.
