Erlangen celebrates 2025: Palace garden festival with large fireworks back!

Erlangen, Deutschland - The castle garden festival of the Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU) will celebrate a spectacular comeback in 2025! Despite the upcoming general renovation of the historic castle, which raised rumors about the possible cancellation of the festival, the event will return on June 28, 2025 with a glamorous fireworks. In a press release, the FAU made it clear that the festival will take place in full this year before the large construction site is opened.

The anticipation is huge! FAU President Joachim Hornegger announced: "The popular and long missing fireworks will be part of the program again." With around 6000 guests annually, the festival becomes a festival of the senses, in which, in addition to the fireworks, an extended “knowledge mile” is presented. This will focus on current research topics such as light, laser, energy and mobility.

The culinary highlights will not be missing: In the open air, guests can enjoy the gin varieties of Tinctura Anatomica, while a new DJ area will create an additional mood. The ticket sales start on November 11, 2024 and offers special discounts to students and members of the University Association. Ticket prices vary from 49.50 euros for students to 150 euros for regular guests.

The event not only promises a festival of joy, but also an opportunity to celebrate the last days before the renovation of the castle. If you miss the spectacle, you will definitely miss something!
