Warning strikes in Munich: IG Metall demands more money and leisure for families!
Erding, Deutschland - In Erding it gets hot! IG Metall has massively expanded the warning strikes in the Bavarian metal and electrical industry, and the focus is now on the flyer base! On Wednesday morning, MTU Aero Engines' employees gathered, and the entire civil workforce did not miss the opportunity to protest loudly. The message is clear: something has to change!
The union demands a whopping seven percent more wages and a monthly grant of 170 euros for trainees. Daniele Frijia from IG Metall Munich was unmistakable: "The current collective hours are a joke!" Employees who manage shift work and at the same time look after children or maintain relatives should finally get more freedom. At the moment you can only take eight additional days a year - a much too low amount that is not sufficient for many! Frijia was outraged by the lack of progress in this important point that could relieve many families.
MTU and the Bundeswehr: an unbeatable team
At the Erding location, engines are mounted and repaired for Bundeswehr fight jets and the helicopter tiger-and not only by MTU employees, but also by members of the Bundeswehr. The close cooperation with the Bundeswehr makes the demands all the more urgent and asks the question: How much are people ready to sacrifice while working for our country's security? IG Metall does everything possible to hear the voices of the employees - the time of the quiet tones is over!
