New quarters in Erding: Parking garage with a sports field planned on the roof!

An exciting new chapter for Erding: A modern district is to be built on the site of the old building yard! After years of discussion, the city has now announced the winner of the urban development competition. The Munich architecture firm H2R convinced with an innovative design that not only provides for a parking garage for around 600 cars, but also a sports field on the roof! This extraordinary idea could revolutionize the cityscape.

The plans provide three large structures that are cleverly adapted to the access of the Lebzelterstraße and the Friedhofsweg. The parking garage will be accessible directly behind the bridge from Lebzelterstraße, with separate entrances and trips. In addition, two apartment blocks are planned, which can also be reached from Lebzelterstrasse. A central quarters place will form the heart of the new area, surrounded by a well thought -out open space network and a green area that leads to the multi -purpose hall.

Important details and future prospects

The city has already planned 200,000 euros for the planning costs of the parking garage in the budget. But when the first construction work begin remains uncertain. Press spokesman Christian Wanninger could not yet call a schedule, which also raises the question when the last tenants from the social housing have to move out on the area. The city plans to further develop the entire district around the parking lot and the adjacent residential areas.

At the presentation of the winning design in the Museum Erding, numerous representatives of the city and the architects were present. H2R architect Hans-Peter Hebersperger-Hüther emphasized the excellent location of the area, which could create an "extraordinary quarters" through the nearby Sempt and the planned cafes and offices. The exhibition of all ten designs submitted can still be seen in the Erding Museum until December 1st. A visit is worth it!
