20 years of Sonnenhof: Wartenberg celebrates medical success!

The Sonnenhof in Wartenberg, located at Strogenstraße 1, is 20 years old and has established itself as an indispensable institution in the healthcare system. On Saturday, November 2, the opening of the health center is celebrated, which houses not only a pharmacy, but also a doctor's office and physiotherapy practice. The success story began in 2002 when Helmut Huber acquired the site of the former Gasthaus Sonne and developed a vision for a modern health center.

The idea was immediately appealed to pharmacist Philipp Nötel and the general practitioners Dr. Edmund Schott and Dr. Gerda von Czarnecki. Together with civil engineer Josef Eber, an ambitious plan was forged, which blew up the original dimensions. The then mayor Walter Rost and the market councils actively supported the project, and construction work began on November 6, 2003. The building was completed in less than a year, proof of the determination and team spirit of everyone involved.

The Sonnenhof quickly became the linchpin for health care in Wartenberg. The Nikolai Apotheke, Dr. Schott and Dr. by Czarnecki and the physiotherapy practice under Huber's management ensured optimal patient care. Over time, however, there were changes in the team: after the death of Werner Höhn in 2016, Nötel took over the pharmacy completely, while Dr. Jaqueline Dennhardt 2011 as the successor to Dr. Schott entered the doctor's office. Also Dr. By Czarnecki, her practice handed over her daughter Julia von Czarnecki, and the team was carried out by Dr. Eva Walenta reinforced.

The central location of the Sonnenhof, with bus connections and sufficient parking facilities, makes it a popular destination for patients. And the best? A new medical center is already being planned and could be opened in 2026. Mayor Christian Pröbst and the market councils are optimistic that this will be the next success story for the growing community. The health care in Wartenberg will continue to stay in the fastening lane in the future!
