Unemployment rate in the Donau-Ries sinks: dream job for 273 young people!

In October 2023, a pleasant trend is emerging in the Donau-Ries district: The unemployment rate is only 2.4 percent-a decrease of 0.3 percentage points compared to the previous month! This is a positive turn, even if the number of unemployed has increased by 8 percent in the year. With unemployed reported in 1988, however, the situation is not unproblematic in the context of the weakening economy and transformation processes in industries such as the metal and electrical industry and vehicle construction.

Norbert Gehring, the popular operational managing director of the Donauwörth agency, emphasizes: "In the Germany-wide comparison, we have been taking a top position with the lowest unemployment rate in the agency district, which is very pleasing." At the same time, he sees the challenges that have the economic changes, especially for the employees.

Young people are on the move!

The situation is particularly encouraging for young people between the ages of 15 and 25: In October, their unemployment fell to only 266, which corresponds to a decline of 15.8 percent compared to the previous month. With 273 new training and further training this month, optimism is great. "Qualification and the adaptation of professional knowledge are essential," said Gehring, "in order to be able to survive in the rapidly changing world of work."

A pulsating labor market

The dynamics of the labor market remains unchanged! In October, 643 people reported new unemployed - part of those affected came directly from employment relationships or educational offers. On the other hand, 832 people were able to end their unemployment. Among them found 222 people directly back into gainful employment. Ukrainians are also strongly represented: 707 employees with Ukrainian citizenship are registered in the district, 294 of which are unemployed. In addition, 362 new positions were reported, which supports the efforts to stabilize the labor market.
