City Councilor Deggendorf: Important decisions for traffic and fees!

Deggendorf, Deutschland - On October 21, 2024, the Deggendorf city council met for the decisive 8th session of the year, and the topics bubbled out! A citizens' application to improve public transport and bicycle traffic caused heated debates while it became exciting: the application for reset did not find a majority! Instead, a proposal was advocated that dismantled the content of the application into two separate votes. Specifically, this means that the urgently needed feasibility studies for a new traffic route plan and the Danube bridge are not restarted again-a clear announcement!

The state road 2074 is finally being upgraded! The city council gave the green light for the Fischerdorf bypass road with a new Danube bridge, and the anticipation for the construction work is great! With a remarkable promise, the Free State of Bavaria will cover a whopping 70 % of the costs for the plans. This was done after a unanimous decision, which also set the criteria for the further procedure to select the bridge variant. So the progress is no longer to be stopped!

But that wasn't all! The city also provided fee adjustments for drainage, street cleaning and cemetery fees. From January 1, 2025, the fee for drainage will be increased to € 2.80 per m³, while the fecal sludge disposal now costs € 35.70 per m³. At the same time, there are new regulations for street cleaning - there is no stone on the other! The revision of the street cleaning statute was also presented to us!

And the highlight? The foundation of the "Stadtwerke Deggendorf Technology GmbH" is certain! This new society will ensure that the city keeps control of electromobile charging points, and the contemporary planning is on the right track. Another step into the future, while the city is also driving innovative projects such as the Solarpark Klotzing.
