Deggendorf on the bike: This is how the city becomes more bike -friendly!

Deggendorf, Deutschland - Deggendorf is breaking new ground in cycling planning! The city has set up on the mission, a membership in the working group of bicycle -friendly municipalities e. V. Bayern (AGFK Bayern). This is associated with a comprehensive improvement in traffic conditions and promoting climate -friendly means of transportation. A big step in this direction has already been taken: The traffic committee voted on March 16, 2022 clearly for Deggendorf as a bicycle -friendly municipality. In order to obtain membership, the Bernard Group was commissioned to create a detailed bicycle traffic concept (RVK).

The new bicycle traffic concept will fundamentally change the city! It defines concrete measures to significantly improve cycling in the next ten years in the short, medium and long-term. The priority? Increase security, comfort and attractiveness for all cyclists! Danger points should be removed and the cycle traffic network is to be optimized. 160 measures bloom to the urban area to make cycling more secure and inviting.

Exact attention was paid to the condition of the existing bicycle infrastructure. The actual state was compared with the target state, and this comparison gives numerous improvement options! The city intends to transform its bike paths sustainably in order to meet the recommendations for cycling systems (ERA). The 160 sheets of measures now be steered step by step into a bicycle -friendly future.

The cycling concept, including all proposals for measures, is made transparent and can be viewed by everyone interested. The future of cycling in Deggendorf is in the hands of the citizens-on the bicycle revolution!
