20 years of success story: German-Turkish women for integration in Metten

The German-Turkish group of women in Metten celebrated its 20th anniversary with a festive anniversary breakfast in the Evangelical Church, in which the participants had a lot to laugh about. This group of women has been a role model for integration and cultural exchange in the Deggendorf district since its foundation. Initially founded by Erna Sicklinger to bring Turkish women closer to the German language, the group has developed into a living community over the years in which friendships and cultural diversity are celebrated. The PNP reported that many of the original members are still actively participating after two decades-a sign lived integration.

A highlight of the celebration was the rich German-Turkish buffet, which underlined the cultural peculiarities of both communities. The group organizes meetings regularly, including the popular women's café and numerous excursions, where destinations in the area are also explored. "We not only visited cities in Germany, but also got to know our home here on site," said Ursula Süß, one of the current leaders.

in the St. Elisabeth community, as from parish-antonius.de , the KfD (Catholic women community) is also involved. This community supports women, encourages them and offers a strong network across all phases of life. With currently 105 active members, the management team is planning many exciting events that promote a good community and bring together women in the community. New members are particularly welcome, which shows that the spirit of cohesion is also very important here.
