Vandalism on Lake Lake: Shocked empty bottles and destruction!

Last weekend the bird watching house was targeted by vandalism at the landscape lake in Dachau. Unknowns not only smashed windows, but also left a large amount of garbage, including empty beer and schnapps bottles as well as damaged road posts. An anonymous observer who passed there described the situation as extremely regrettable and referred to the destruction as unnecessary and disrespectful action towards nature and those seeking relaxation.

He reported that when visiting the house on the hill, shards and torn brackets were found for information sheets. "Apparently a kind of wild party was celebrated inside the house," he said, adding that he had collected some of the remains and reported to the city of Dachau for collection.

regular vandalism files

The city architect Moritz Reinhold was also upset about the ongoing vandalism acts. He explained that such incidents in the region are often found around the Schinderkreppe and the Stadtweiher. "It is regrettable that we have to deal with this problem again and again," emphasized Reinhold and also noted that cases, like this, are not always to a considerable extent, but can be observed regularly.

Despite the anger, the city decided not to make a criminal complaint because the financial damage was low for the destroyed flyer boxes at around 30 euros. An urban cleaning team was able to eliminate the remains of vandalism within an hour, remarkably, the deposit bottles and the beer box had already disappeared when the city employees arrived.

Reinhold pointed out that not only vandalism, but also a great garbage effort in summer on the lawn on the city pond. This unclean practice, in which grills and waste bins are affected, contributes to the increasing strain on the city and its resources. "It is regrettable that the damaged property and the flash are a recurring problem with which many municipalities in Germany have to struggle," added Reinhold.
