Property tax reform in Schwabhausen: Mayor calls for an increase!

Schwabhausen, Deutschland - In Schwabhausen it is bubbling! The municipal council has debated Hitzig about the new property tax rates-and the minds could not be more heated! Mayor Wolfgang Hörl speaks and explains that a tax increase is essential to improve the municipal treasury. But not all municipal councils agree, and some warn of the consequences that this increase could bring for homeowners.

The nationwide property tax reform forces the municipalities to set the lifting rates for property tax A and B again this year, whereby the reform comes into force on January 1, 2025. During the exciting meeting, it was discussed how much the lifting rates in Schwabhausen should be raised. Property tax B should increase from 350 to up to 490 percent. Hörl outlined the financial matters: With a rate of 350 percent, the municipality has income of 682,000 euros, 490 percent could even be 957,000 euros. "The increase is nothing that kills you," he clarifies. But is that really like that?

accusations and concerns!

The critical voices within the council are loud. Max Patzelt from the Free Voters in question as to why the rate is not reduced as in the neighboring community of Indersdorf. And Daniel Haagen even finds such an increase "shabby". Josef Reischl from the CSU also warned against increasing trade tax, as this could possibly sell local companies. The concerns about the economic consequences hang like a sword of Damocles on Schwabhausen.

In the upcoming meeting in November or December, it is now to be decided how things will happen. The municipal administration expects clear decisions before the reform comes into force at the beginning of the year. Time is forced and the question remains: Will the Schwabhaus citizens have to carry the new tax burdens or can they breathe?
