Dachau: District office is being renovated - new building burst!
The District Office Dachau is facing a dramatic turn! The new building that has been planned for years is no longer sustainable, and the 50 -year -old building urgently needs to be renovated. The district committee has decided unanimously: Instead of a new building, a gradual renovation is now being sought to extend the "duration" of the dilapidated office for the next ten to 15 years.
Those responsible have big plans! By 2028, an estimated 7 million euros are to flow into the renovation. Jörg Böheim, head of the department, emphasizes: "We create added value, even if we may need a general renovation in the future. No money will be thrown out of the window!" There is an urgent need for action, especially in the field of fire protection and building services. The energetic renovation, in particular the aluminum facade, is also at the top of the list to reduce electricity costs.
dangerous conditions in the district office
District Administrator Stefan Löwl even invited his district councils to a tour of the dilapidated office - "only with a helmet"! This is not a joke: three months ago, plaster fell suddenly from the ceiling into the stairwell. The safety of employees and citizens is at stake! In addition, a new EU directive is expected to prescribe the renovation of the "worst buildings" in Germany. But Löwl warns: Germany has not yet determined any limit values, which the Situation is also complicated.
The decision about a possible general renovation or a new building will be made in the coming years. Until then, the district office of Dachau remains a problem child that urgently needs to be invested in the future!
