ASV Hamm-Westfalen hires goalkeeper Katsigiannis after colodeti injury!
A dramatic change in handball: The ASV Hamm-Westfalen reacted quickly and committed the experienced goalkeeper Nikolas Katsigiannis after Stammtorhüter Marcos Colodei broke his shin at the last away game in Coburg. Colodeti will now lack the team for months, which forced the second division handball team to make this quick decision. Katsigiannis, who was most recently clubless, will make his debut in the home game against TSV Bayer Dormagen tomorrow, on November 1, at 7:30 p.m.
The 42-year-old Katsigiannis, known from the handball Bundesliga, has become behind him, including at the THW Kiel, the Rhein-Neckar Löwen and HC. "I have rejected some inquiries in the past few months, for example from Denmark, Sweden or Greece. Now everything was right at the request from Hamm. That is almost home for me. I'm really looking forward to playing handball again," explains the five -time German national goalkeeper.
challenge for katsigiannis
Although Katsigiannis could only play a training session with the team before his first game, he shows himself optimistic: "Of course, this is not a normal preparation, but it is no different in this Situation. It is definitely easier to integrate a goalkeeper as soon as a field player. I still know the Dormagener from last year." With this attitude he wants to stand by the ASV Hamm-Westphalia in this critical phase and demonstrate his skills.
