US Army in the Upper Palatinate: Big maneuvers cause excitement!

The US Army starts the military exercise "Allied Spirit 25" on February 22, which is scheduled for a period of four weeks in the Upper Palatinate. The exercise extends over several counties, including Amberg-Sulzbach, Neumarkt, Neustadt/Waldnaab, Cham and Schwandorf. The maneuver is organized by the 7th Army Training Command Grafenwöhr.

A total of 1,408 soldiers and a variety of military vehicles will take part in the exercise. These include 375 cycling vehicles, 24 chain vehicles and 22 helicopters. The geographical practice areas range from Auerbach and Grafenwöhr to Weiden and Wernberg to Schwandorf, Maxhütte-Haidhof, Parsberg, Neumarkt and Weigendorf. In addition, the helicopter operations will extend the practice area to Middle Franconia.
