Animal smuggling raises the alarm: frightened puppies discovered on the border!
In an alarming incident on the German-Czech border, a 64-year-old man with eight frightened dog puppies was discovered, which were locked up in his trunk. During a check in Bad Gottleuba-Berggießhübel, the officers discovered the animals that could not show any European animal cards and also had no access to water. The dog puppies were brought to an animal shelter by a veterinarian of the local veterinary office, while an administrative offense procedure was initiated against the man and a security deposit of 800 euros was raised, such as Blick.de reported.
A similar incident occurred in Bavaria, where the police in the Cham district saved six dog puppies from a car of a suspected animal smuggler. These were in transport boxes and suffered from exhaustion and dehydration after they were allegedly transported for 18 hours. The inspectors discovered fake pet ID cards and found that the puppies were far too young for the transportation. The driver was prevented from continuing his journey and the animals were handed over to the care of the veterinary office, so Stuttgart Zeitung .
